RANKTOP has supplied 101 megawatts of high-efficiency modules to two PV projects in Kenya. More than 290,000 high-efficiency modules manufactured by Jinkosolar will be used in these two projects.
RANKTOP has completed construction of a park near the city of Eldoret (northwest Kenya).
Covering more than 610 acres, these plants provide electricity to more than 260,000 local households, making them the largest photovoltaic power plant in Kenya and one of the largest in Africa. The construction of the PV project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 106,000 tons per year.
RANKTOP not only provides all the components for the project, but also provides technical support for the project implementation management and project implementation process to help it complete the implementation and construction of the power station. RANKTOP leading products and technology solutions, as well as product life cycle support and services covering technical consulting, order delivery, transportation and distribution, production operation and maintenance, and application training. RANKTOP will also help cultivate local PV talents and teams through the project process. The two sides expect that through the smooth connection of this landmark project, the successful experience will be gradually extended to similar projects in other East and Central African countries.
Kenya, as a country with relatively high levels of solar radiation throughout the year, is of great strategic importance for solar projects. It is worth noting that Kenya has more than 300 days of sunshine per year, twice as many as Germany. Germany is the world's top producer of solar energy, with more than 40 000 MW of installed PV module capacity. Many African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and so on, have taken energy transformation and photovoltaic application in villages without electricity as an important strategy for national future energy development. They hope to use Jinkosolar's advanced technology and rich global resources to create a model for photovoltaic applications and further enhance the country's energy independence.
