Medina is located in the western Serrat Mountains of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is rich in renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power. However, the country has long relied on traditional fossil fuels for electricity generation, resulting in unstable power supply and high energy costs. In order to improve the sustainability and economics of energy supply, Medina began to focus on and promote the development of energy storage.
Recently, Ranktop Energy Storage Medina mine "light wood storage" project successfully connected to the grid for power generation.
It is reported that the lithium project mining area of 19 square kilometers, mineral selection capacity of 1.1 million tons/year. In order to ensure the mining capacity and make full use of the best photovoltaic resources in the place, the project adopts the "photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel generator" model to build a smart light fuel storage city micro-grid to promote the efficient use of distributed energy.
Ranktop Energy Storage supplies a total of 10.2MWh energy storage system equipment for the lithium mine. At present, the maximum daily power generation of the project is 110,000 degrees, an average of 77,500 degrees, and the power generation accounts for more than 25% of the daily electricity consumption of the mine, which greatly reduces the cost of using diesel generators (the cost of photovoltaic power generation per degree is nearly 1/20 of the cost of diesel power generation per degree). With the end of the rainy season in Medina and the completion of the installation of the energy storage station, it will provide power to the mine more stably and efficiently in the future, and further increase the proportion of new energy consumption.
The project is the first photovoltaic power station with energy storage in Medina, and the first energy system with mains + diesel power station + PV + energy storage. By utilizing renewable energy resources and advanced energy storage technologies, Ranktop Energy storage contributes to the energy transformation of Medina and provides a reliable and economical power supply for economic and social development
